Police identify woman fatally shot Monday on north side

A woman was shot and killed Monday afternoon on Indianapolis’ north side, according to police.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 1200 block of Congress Avenue, in between West 31st and 32nd streets, about 4:30 p.m. on a report of a person shot.

IMPD Officer William Young said police found a woman, later identified as 33-year-old Reonna Jackson, with a gunshot wound. Emergency medical services pronounced her dead. 

Police asked anyone who was in the neighborhood between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. to call IMPD’s homicide office at 317-327-3475 or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
