Karlie Kloss Drops Her Second Collection With Adidas, Shop It Here
Model and new mom Karlie Kloss launches her second collection in partnership with Adidas today. The latest range of activewear includes sports bras, leggings, swimwear, and jackets, all inspired by Kloss’s affinity for being outdoors. “Spending quality time outside is a big part of my overall wellness and personal happiness,” Kloss tells Vogue. “This past year, I made it a goal to spend even more time outside. It’s amazing how much fresh air and sunshine can uplift your mood, and that was a driving force behind these pieces.”
To Kloss, the second installment of her activewear collection with Adidas needed to be as versatile as it was functional. “After a tough year when most of us spent a majority of our time inside, I wanted to create something that inspires a reconnection with nature and the endless possibilities of the outdoors,” she says. “Many pieces in the collection use high-performance technology designed to keep you cool through all of your fresh air activities, but they also feature high fashion elements, so they work for running errands or meeting up with friends.” For example, Kloss’s favorite piece in the collection is the run shorts. “These shorts keep me cool and help me push for those extra miles!” she says. “They also look so cute paired with the cover-up jacket, black sneakers, and a simple pair of gold earrings when I’m out and about running errands or spending time with my son.”
The collection is an ode to the great outdoors, both with its earthy color palette and the sustainable, high-performance materials used. The assortment utilizes fabrics like primeblue (made with upcycled plastic waste intercepted on remote islands, beaches, coastal communities, and shorelines) and primegreen (made with at least 40% recycled content, and a dye technology that saves 60% on water and energy by honing in on a material’s natural color).
The partnership between Adidas and Kloss also helps support one of Karlie Kloss’s tech-related initiatives Kode With Klossy—a two-week free coding camp for young women across the United States. “As the founder of Kode With Klossy, it’s also important to me to support the next generation of women in STEAM and beyond,” says Kloss. This summer, Adidas will provide an internship through the Kode With Klossy hackathon. Additionally, the latest campaign for Kloss and Adidas spotlights two Kode with Klossy scholars, Yasmin Jama and Deye Sarr, who, to Kloss, “really represent the collaboration,’ says Kloss. “Adidas has always been a longtime supporter of our programming…Considering this collection was designed with the next generation in mind, I immediately knew I wanted Kode With Klossy scholars to be part of the campaign.”
