Southwest Indiana takes pride in its arts community. The Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana serves as a cornerstone, promoting cultural events, including a weeklong arts festival, and dispersing valuable information.

Recognized as one of the finest orchestras in the Midwest, the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra is celebrating its 77th season. The Evansville Civic Theatre, in its 85th season, dazzles audiences with local productions featuring musical reviews, comedies and drama.

Aspiring ballerinas can receive instruction and showcase their talents at the Evansville Dance and Theatre School or Ballet Evansville, which holds three annual performances. Children's Center for Dance Education is a not-for-profit regional ballet school and performing arts company with teaching studios in Evansville, Newburgh, Princeton, Henderson and New Harmony.

Boom Squad, Inc. (BSI) is a performing drum line located in the heart of Evansville, Indiana. It consists of 70 students representing 23 schools in the Evansville Metropolitan Area. Students are between the ages of 4 -16.

Evansville's own Tales & Scales is a group of storytelling musicians that tours nationally-acclaimed performances and workshops that  ignite the imaginations of  young audiences in schools, libraries and community centers throughout Southwest Indiana and beyond! 

Evansville Museum of Arts, History & Science

The Evansville Museum of Arts, History & Science is currently undergoing a $17.5 million renovation that will ultimately see the addition of a two and a half story glass pavilion that will house a state-of-the-art immersive theater employing the latest in planetarium technology. Plans also include the creation of new exhibition spaces for History and Science; a new FamilyPlace Gallery for hands-on learning opportunities in science; a permanent exhibition recalling Evansville’s substantial involvement in the World War II home front effort; two new Learning Centers for classes and workshops; The Begley Art Source, the Museum’s art consultation service; and the Museum Shop.
