Federal Advocacy

Representatives from chambers of commerce and local economic development organizations conduct an annual visit to Washington, D.C. to visit with elected officials about national issues of common interest and concern.  The unique nature of the annual visit is that delegates from three states within our economic region meet with Congressmen and Senators from throughout those states to advocate for each entities' respective top priorities, understanding that our region competes for jobs and investments on a global scale, and we must work in a collaborative manner to strengthen and grow our economic region.

A delegation of economic development professionals from Southwest Indiana and Northwest Kentucky visited Washington, D.C. in May 2011 to discuss shared regional issues of significance with federal elected officials.
