IU Basketball Coach Will Serve as Keynote
Speaker at Annual Dinner
The Chamber of Commerce of Southwest
Indiana, in partnership with the Greater
Evansville Chapter of the IU Alumni Association, is pleased to announce
that
IU Men’s Head Basketball Coach Tom Crean will serve as the Keynote
Speaker for The Chamber’s Annual Meeting & Dinner on Thursday, September
25 at The Centre in Downtown Evansville.
Coach Crean, who averaged over 20 wins a season in nine years at
Marquette and led the Golden Eagles to five NCAA Tournament appearances,
including the 2003 Final Four, was named the 28th head
basketball coach in Indiana University history in April.
In each of his final seven seasons, Crean’s team posted at least 19 wins
and earned a postseason berth.
Over those seven years, he composed an aggregate record of 160–68
(.702). He is a two-time
recipient of the Ray Meyer Conference
USA, NABC District XI and USBWA
District V Coach of the Year awards, and in 2003 won the Coach Clair Bee
Award as well as being a finalist for the Naismith National Coach of the
Year Award.
The Chamber of Commerce of Southwest Indiana hosts its Annual Meeting &
Dinner in order to communicate the issues and initiatives that The
Chamber has undertaken or supported over the past year.
It is a way to show The Chamber’s impact, while previewing the
organization’s program of work for the next year.
It also gives The Chamber the opportunity to recognize several
volunteers for their service over the past year. Please
