About the Chamber

22nd Annual ATHENA Awards Luncheon is Friday, October 21, 2011!

ATHENA AwardThe ATHENA Award recipient is an individual recognized not only for her own professional excellence and community service, but also for actively and generously assisting women in the attainment of professional excellence and leadership skills. The value of this mentoring is immeasurable. Nominations were due by July 8, 2011, and the 11 finalists were announced at a press conference on August 3, 2011.

The ATHENA Award is not exclusive to Evansville, Indiana.  Since 1982, Chambers of Commerce in over 300 cities in the United States, and countries such as Canada and Russia, acknowledge women in leadership roles. This is a special opportunity to recognize those women in our community who assist other women to reach their full potential. The ATHENA Selection Committee evaluates all nominations, and the recipient for 2011 will be announced at the 22nd Annual ATHENA Awards Luncheon to be held at The Centre on October 21, 2011.
